A Strong Running Season

Four events, four very different courses and one shared sense of purpose: throughout September and October, our colleagues represented WGA at the Wien Energie Business Run, the WACHAUmarathon, the Erste Bank Vienna Night Run and the Run for Cancer Research.
The season began with the Wien Energie Business Run on Vienna’s Danube Island, where teams of three took on the 4.3-kilometre course and shared achievement mattered just as much as the clock. Only a few days later, the WACHAUmarathon offered a striking change of scenery. With several distances to choose from, participants followed fast, largely flat routes through the Wachau, accompanied by sweeping views of the Danube.
Next came the Erste Bank Vienna Night Run, transforming Vienna’s Ringstrasse into a five-kilometre course through the city after dark. The running season concluded in October with the Run for Cancer Research at the Altes AKH university campus. Every kilometre carried an added purpose, with all donations supporting research projects at the Medical University of Vienna.
From a compact corporate challenge and the celebrated Wachau course to a night-time city run and a cause that advances cancer research, the four events brought a remarkable variety to the season. Above all, they showed how shared miles can strengthen connections—on the course and well beyond it.
