Not even the high summer temperatures could stop our team from visiting the construction site of our An der Schanze 25 project in Vienna’s 21st district last Friday. The site visit gave staff the opportunity to see the current progress of the build first-hand and to compare the plans with the actual construction work. As the overall project is currently at various stages of construction – ranging from the start of the fit-out work to flats that are almost ready for occupation – numerous construction details were discussed.
Among other things, the focus was on the ongoing façade work, including the construction of parapets and fall protection systems. The open spaces – such as roof terraces, loggias and balconies – and their drainage systems were also examined in detail. Particular attention was paid to the various layer structures, material junctions and the technical implementation of the curtain walls.
Inside the flats, the team gained an overview of the current stage of construction. Among other things, they inspected the sanitary fittings that had already been installed, the electrical installations and the connection details of the laid floor coverings.
The tour then continued to the basement levels and ancillary rooms, including bicycle storage and garbage rooms. In addition, the road layout within the project development area and the design of the outdoor facilities were explained. The building services also provided the basis for technical discussions, particularly regarding the interconnection of the four building sections via the electricity, district heating and district cooling supply systems.
The site visit provided valuable insights into the current status of the project and offered the opportunity to discuss technical details directly on site.
