The private clinic Währing at Kreuzgasse 17-19 in Vienna has been revitalized and restored to a contemporary, efficient, and attractive condition – technically, visually, and functionally. The revitalization included a redesign of the interior spaces, a contemporary adaptation of the architecture, and modernization of the facade. As the general planner, we combine contemporary design and functional optimization in revitalization projects and make existing buildings future-proof. This is always a challenge, especially in healthcare construction. Light, interior design, materiality, and orientation create not only functional but also emotionally appealing spaces that support the healing process and contribute to recovery and the well-being of people. Thus, aging hospitals and healthcare facilities are increasingly given new life through renovation, modernization, and restructuring. The private clinic Währing houses outpatient clinics, patient rooms, operating rooms, and intervention rooms. To further enhance comfort and offerings, there is a cafeteria on the ground floor that creates an inviting atmosphere as soon as you enter the building.
As planners, we recognized the potential of the existing clinic and designed it as a modern hospital with a contemporary appearance.
