The Interessensgemeinschaft Architektur is celebrating its 20th anniversary. To mark the occasion, a building culture exhibition will be held in Vienna and Graz over the coming month of May. The theme is a clearly defined invitation to discussion: Reden wir über Baukultur! – Let’s talk about building culture!
IG Architektur does not understand building culture as a private matter, but as a collective work and therefore as an overall achievement. It describes not only the shape of living space at all scales, but also the process of its creation, appropriation, utilisation and preservation. The aim of the building exhibition is to bring the built environment into the conscious field of vision of passersby, in order to bring the subject of building culture into the public sphere and make it accessible. The Corona pandemic has made the importance of quality public spaces even more visible, making it even more important to design cities that are safe, resilient, sustainable and liveable.
With the poster at the entrance of WGA ZT GmbH, we want to join the aim of bringing architecture more to the front and stimulate an awareness-raising discourse.
