We are starting the running season again with our WGA team and the Vienna City Marathon, which was held for the 40th time this year, marked the beginning.
On the 22.04.2023 and the 23.04.2023, the time had come and we were at the start of several events. We started on Saturday with our five-kilometer run around the Ring in the first district. We continued on Sunday with two relay teams and a marathon runner for 42 kilometers across Vienna. Leaving the Vienna International Centre in Kaisermühlen, the course took us past the Prater and the stadium, then to the Ring and towards Schönbrunn. We continued to Westbahnhof station and Mariahilfer Straße to the University of Vienna. We then walked back towards the Prater and Ernst Happel Stadium before returning to the Ring and finishing at the Parliament and City Hall – with a final sprint. It was very exhausting, but also a lot of fun due to the cheers of the audience and the encouragement. Afterward, we cheered on the other finishers and enjoyed Sunday in the glorious weather.
We are already looking forward to mastering the next sporting challenge together again as a team.
