ISTA Maintenance Centre, Maria Gugging – Contruction completion

The construction project for the new maintenance centre on the campus of the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) in Maria Gugging (Klosterneuburg) was successfully completed with the handover of the turnkey facility and the official opening ceremony. The new building is situated in a strategically central location on the site – between Haselbachgasse and the Ring Road – and will henceforth serve as an essential logistical backbone for ongoing research operations and the future expansion of the site.
Architecturally and functionally, the building impresses with a well-considered blend of efficiency, aesthetics and sustainability. Whilst the ground floor, with its spacious equipment hall, provides a robust infrastructure for deliveries, storage and operations, the upper floor also creates a modern visual statement with high-quality exposed timber cladding and striking profiled glass skylights. The careful design of the ground-floor basin ensures that the floodplain and riverbank areas of the adjacent wild stream are preserved. A solar panel system on the flat roof further underlines the project’s environmental credentials.
Special thanks go to everyone involved in the project – the client, NÖ Landesimmobiliengesellschaft m.b.H., the main contractor STRABAG AG, the specialist planners, and the tradespeople and construction firms. Thanks to the excellent, seamless collaboration between all partners, this challenging construction project was completed on schedule and to the highest standard.
