The Laaer Berg Primary School in Vienna’s 10th district is an outstanding example of sustainable architecture. We are delighted to announce that the school extension was completed in time for the start of the school year. The new premises are now available to school children and teaching staff and will help to further improve the quality of education on offer. The Laaer Berg Primary School was awarded the ‘klimaaktiv Gold’ certification with 933 out of 1,000 points. We are very proud of this recognition. It sets standards for environmentally conscious construction and meets the highest standards in the areas of energy efficiency, building material quality, comfort and health. The school extension at Laaer-Berg-Straße 170 comprises a multifunctional auditorium, open learning areas, educational rooms and modern sports and exercise rooms. A large entrance loggia provides a secure lounge area, while innovative use of the roof with photovoltaic panels contributes to energy generation.
Not only does this project create a contemporary learning environment, it also makes a positive contribution to the community and the environment. Laaer Berg Primary School is thus a place where education and sustainability go hand in hand.
