Retirement Home Alfons Maria, Gablitz – Test run and finishing touches

As the end of the year approaches and the first snow has fallen, the final work on the Alfons Maria Centre for the Elderly is coming to an end. The ground floor, including the canteen kitchen, is structurally complete. Corrective and finishing work is also progressing rapidly, and the demolition of the site has already begun. The building is currently being tested. The building services systems are being tested, including the heating of the building via the component-activated ceilings and the underfloor heating installed in some areas. The guidance and orientation system will be installed on the walls next week. This has been developed in close consultation with the future care home staff to help residents, visitors and staff find their way around the building.Ceiling sails will also be installed in communal areas such as the entrance foyer, the social and seminar room and the central lounges on the residents’ floors. These are suspended from the ceiling and help to create pleasant room acoustics. The building is now almost ready for handover to the client, which will take place after the Christmas break early next year.
