On Saturday, 4 October 2025, this year’s Cancer Research Run took place again on the campus of the University of Vienna at the Old General Hospital (“Altes AKH). This is an important event that not only raises awareness of cancer research but also actively generates donations for this important cause. Our WGA team took part in this event and supported cancer research with our donation.
Every lap we ran helped to advance research and gain new insights that are of great importance in the fight against this disease. The goal of this year’s Cancer Research Run was to complete a total of 30,000 laps. This goal was exceeded with an impressive 46,239 laps, resulting in the sponsors donating an additional amount.
The Cancer Research Run was not only an opportunity to do good for ourselves and others, but also a wonderful way to strengthen team spirit within our company. Together, we ran the routes, cheered each other on and experienced a day full of motivation and solidarity. The cheers from our colleagues, families and spectators gave us the motivation we needed to do our best and master the challenge. It was impressive to see how we grew together as a team while running for a good cause.

The weather couldn’t have been better! The sun was shining and the pleasant temperatures created a great atmosphere. After the run, we gathered to sit together and enjoy sausages and cake. It was a perfect opportunity to enjoy the sun, chat and reflect on the day’s experiences.
A big thank you goes to the organisers at MedUni Vienna who created this wonderful run.
