Wings for Life Run Vienna 2026

It was that time again yesterday – Vienna transformed into a huge sea of runners, and the team from WGA was right in the middle of it all! At the Wings for Life World Run 2026, we competed together to take on arguably the most exciting challenge in running, which is running away from the catcher car.
A very special highlight this year was the backdrop with the starting line being located right in front of the historic Schönbrunn Palace. Starting out in the midday sun in front of the imperial residence gave the event a majestic and highly emotional atmosphere from the very first second. It’s a goosebumps moment every year when the starting gun is fired at the same time around the world, but this starting point made the day unforgettable for us.
As well as the setting, what makes this run so unique however is the deep charitable spirit behind it. 100% of all entrance fees and donations go directly to spinal cord research.
The atmosphere along the track was simply electric. Everywhere you could hear the crowd cheering us all on as they practically carried us along the road.
We are proud to have made our contribution again in 2026 and thank every team member for their efforts and the fans at the track for their vocal support. One thing is certain: we are already looking forward to next year, when we’ll once again say: “We run for those who can’t!
